Sticky Stand

the story behind the stand

Sticky Stand was co-founded by two long time friends, Daniel Madsen and Jerome Miles, who have worked together for over a decade bringing many innovative products to market during their day jobs.

Jerome's wife recently had surgery, and was eating a LOT of popsicles during her recovery. As it turns out, eating a popsicle from start to finish actually takes a surprising amount of time, and Jerome found himself frequently holding his wife's partially eaten popsicles until her hands were free to take it back.

One day Jerome was holding one of her popsicles and had a funny idea to design and 3D print a small stand to hold it up instead. A few hours later he set it on his wife's desk saying, "You don't need me any more!" She laughed about it, but quickly started using the little stand every time she ate a popsicle.

Soon after this little invention was created, Jerome's family ran into a new problem; his kids were constantly stealing their mom's popsicle stands, and she never could find one when she needed it! He began to realize all the times his kids had asked him to hold their popsicles at parks, swimming pools, camping trips and even when they went boating! He realized this was a universal problem families deal with all the time, and so went to work on an improved version that could potentially turn into a real product.

Jerome showed the first versions to his friend Daniel, who loved it and quickly improved the design. He stylized it to look more fun and appealing, be more functional, and made it manufacturable. After a couple of test popsicle parties with friends and family, they knew they had a good product that would be a hit!

They worked together to file a patent and find the perfect partner to manufacture Sticky Stands that would be low cost, food safe, and have the capacity to produce millions, so that every family can enjoy the experience of freeing their hands with Sticky Stand!
